Barnstead Days
★★★★☆ 4.1
Barnstead Days is comfort food. You inherit a run-down farm, clear the weeds, plant crops, and slowly get to know the villagers next door. Nothing here is stressful. There's no energy meter forcing you off, and the game trusts you to play at your own speed.
Tasks are tap-based and forgiving. Watering, harvesting, and gifting all take a couple of taps, and the game gently reminds you when crops are ready. The village characters have small ongoing stories that unfold over in-game seasons, which gave me a reason to log in beyond just farming.
It's not deep in a mechanical sense, but it's warm and it respects your time. On a stressful evening this is exactly what I reach for.
